Greetings all. I would like to start the process of focus around the Naga-flags that will be present in the Camp and also on the Barge. I have the screens that are needed to print these and an early version of Naga-banners. I am currently getting the new screenshop space sorted out (meeting with potential new partners tomorrow). This will allow for the next wave of printing.
What we need for this project: +fabric for the banners themselves +the design and materials for the Flagpoles or hangers to which they will be attached on the barge +dimensions of these flagpoles so that the banners themselves can be shaped/printed/fitted accordingly +time to get the printing/shaping done while I am in town
Due to the size of these prints and the amount of them and my current limits to the use of my right arm, I am also trying to find an assistant for the physical process of the printing itself.
This is my update and an invitation to start the conversation around getting this vision materialized on a large enough scale for our Camp to enjoy. Input, suggestions? thank you.

Greetings Arun!
Condolences on the arm! I trust it is a transient issue?
I'm out fabric measuring and shopping this week after the camp application is filed. What is your best guess of the lead time necessary once you have designs and fabric in hand?
Thanks!

Re: Banners and Nagas and Flagpoles, Oh My!
i am currently writing out the calendar for when i will be in portland and when i will be in SF or otherwhere. The printing process itself will not take an enormous amount of time once I find assistance and get the new setup in place. That is the theme of my current stay in Portland (the next two weeks) I am going to sort my travel calendar out today so that i may send the dates and length of stay for my time in portland to you and we can figure out the production periods for which I will need the fabric.

Re: Banners and Nagas and Flagpoles, Oh My!
it seems like the best time for me to have a couple of weeks to work on this will be in the first half of July. If I can get materials together and have all the equipment in place by the first half of July, then I can get things printed. After that, I will have a few days at a time when i will be in town, but festival season will be in full swing. So late June and early july seem to be the main opportunities for work on this.
does that sound like a workable deadline for fabric acquisition?
The next question involves the production of the poles.

Re: Banners and Nagas and Flagpoles, Oh My!
Quite reasonable. :-)
The poles... design will have to wait until after May 31st.

Re: Banners and Nagas and Flagpoles, Oh My!
update: The screenprinting equipment is now housed at the Circadia Art Center in a shared-use arrangement through which i will have access and most likely, assistance for the large-scale printing. This means that I may head South (to SF and LA) this month with that issue taken care of...it will be set-up and waiting for me upon my return and i can get to work!

also...the screens themselves are on display at Circadia in their gallery at the moment...and i saw new and delightful configurations for the Naga-head images as well as the bodies....we can create some amazing archways...canopies...shrine-alcoves etc with these screens that augment the banners and can be deployed around the camp to unify the aesthetic theme.
